The Story
Durga Puja is the quintessential festival for all Bengalis, and the fever pitch begins with Mahalaya. It's probably one of the only times when even the sleepiest of Bongs wake up to a ringing alarm in the early morning hours, yawning yet excited to hear Mahishashurmardini recited by Mr. Birendra Krishna Bhadra.
